Katie Bickham, poet and English faculty at BPCC will be our guest speaker:
Katie Bickham was born and raised in the Deep South and finds much of her writing turning itself toward her home state of Louisiana. After receiving her BA in English and MA in Liberal Arts from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Katie took Steinbeck’s maxim (“You can never really write about a place until you leave it”) to heart, and is nearing the completion of her MFA at Stonecoast at the University of Southern Maine. She is the recipient of the 2012 Jeffrey E. Smith Editor’s Prize in poetry. Her poems have appeared in The Missouri Review, Deep South Magazine and The Road Not Taken: A Journal of Formal Poetry.
Also, we will have a projector and laptop available, so if you wish to use a digital version of your work for the Round Robin section of the meeting, we can accommodate you. Feel free to either bring your work on a flash drive, or attach it to an email before the meeting.
